Noob here, Frank Tillery from Forestburg, TX. Proud owner of a 1974 Yamaha 360 Enduro (avatar photo). Raced MX back in the 70's and rode a 1974 Yamaha 175 Enduro in high school. I have picked up a lot of good info on tuning my DT just lurking thus far. At present restoring a 1974 (say it's not so) Honda TL125

New from Oregon, I am a high school shop teacher. Just purchased a 72 ct2 Enduro basket case for my students to restore. Looks like a great resource here. I will try to post pictures as we progress

Welcome. Wish there were more shop teachers like you out there. You will find a lot of help and advice here. Suggest you start a separate thread for this. And please post updates with pictures. Maybe this will catch on in other schools.

I'll donate a pair of NOS front turn signals, send me a PM.

New member here from New Hampshire. I had a '77 DT-250D for 25 years and a DT-400 and sold them a few years ago. I bought a 1969 CT1 on Sunday with 1509 miles on the clock. It was a single family bike, unused and stored in a heated basement since 1985, and started right up after the fuel tank was filled. The bike looks like it just rolled out of the Yamaha dealer back in 1969.

This site has been a lot of help in selecting the CT1 and for how to do the maintenance on it. I just replaced the battery, motor oil and 2 stroke oil. I was actually looking for a bike as a winter project and this one popped up. Other than the fork oil, I don't think it needs anything else. The tires look perfect but I will probably change them just to be on the safe side.

As noted in my profile, I'm just an old guy. Had a DT-1 in 1968 or 1969 when it came out with a 21-inch front wheel. Bought it from Karl Huth (Walt and Karl's Motorcycles in Richmond, CA). The mechanic at Walt and Karl's was the guy (can't recall his name right now) that ran with Bugs Mann at the Isle of Man -- he was one of the good guys. Used to run into lots of the greats at the Richmond Ramblers. Ran the heck out of that DT1 for several years and traded it to a friend for some machinery. Now I have a 77 KZ 1000 and a DT 400 set up for the street. Haven't ridden in years for a couple of reasons. Am planning to start riding in about May of next year when the streets hereabouts (in Anchorage) are rideable. Still miss that old DT1.
