He's quoting me $160.00 to blast and powder coat frame and swingarm... Not sure yet on the smaller parts like Kick stand, foot pegs etc. so will know more when I meet and drop off everything on Saturday.
Priced it out here in the Denver area and was more in the $700.00 range so you're right about price variance. Almost seems like the bigger the operation the more they charge!

Yeah- each bearing came in with different measurements.... Nothing real noticeable by just looking at it but there has been some material removed at some level and would very much doubt it somehow became that way with just riding as the shaft would have show some wear spots I would think.
With it just spinning free on the shaft... not seeing any damage but it sure was not utilizing the bearing at all other than just holding the crank in place.... Crazy stuff!

New Engine goodies have now arrived!
KOYO bearings- only way to fly!
This image is hidden for guests.
Time now to get the Crank sent off for a complete rebuild- Will be picking up the freshly powder coated Frame and all Black Parts late next week.
Will now start to focus on the Engine here next week to prep and get ready to drop the new bearings in.

Crank along with the new parts Rod, Pin, Bearing and washers are now boxed up and on the way to Bill Bune for a rebuild.
I spoke to them today and described what I found with the old bearing not even engaging on the stator side shaft- To my surprise they stated they have seen that same situation before.... They will do a complete spec on the shafts to make sure everything is perfect for me.
They do thousands of these rebuilds so will be great when it comes back.

Starting to get things ready to go!
Was a fun day today picking up my freshly Powder Coated Frame and all the Black parts from my blaster dude- Everything looks AMAZING!
My Curnutt shocks have been evaluated/serviced by the Master Scott- Cylinder and Piston have been inspected and made ready to go by resident EXPERT Enduronut.
Rebuilt Crank should be coming back soon and it will be time to start getting the Engine reassembled.
Stayed tuned for some updated Pic's and full details as the Black Widow gets reassembled and ready for California Dream'in event in March!

And you probably thought nobody would notice the music playing in the background.
Back in Black. AC/DC
I like your style when it comes to rebuilding and freshening bikes that get ridden extremely hard.

A 5 years back I took my 73 CB500 frame and pieces like you sent to a powder coat place, he wanted $700 to do the work. So I painted at home, two stage clear. Maybe prices have dropped.
Thanks Mark
