New Thermal Flow Shock Springs was created by MACE6772
Does anyone know of a vendor or source making reproduction springs? I am about to start discussions with a source to have them made, but I don't want to "reinvent the wheel" if they are already out there. Also like others before me, this post is also to gauge interest in this endevour. If you are interested please give me some feedback. Silo 7 hope you read this.If all works out, my first run will be 20 pairs. Then more per demand. These will be for the resto guys. I am shooting for exact reproductions. I know they will not sell if they are anything less.

I will need a pair at some stage but not at that point yet in resto. I'm in the UK and was thinking of trying Hagon shocks

Hagon made me a pair of shocks for my DT3 a few years ago. The springs are not standard, they are fine for road riding, maybe not so good off road.

I contacted Cannon Racecraft about having springs made for the TF shocks. Thanks Mark T. Using the stock TF dimensions, they said powder coated springs would cost me $ 320.00 Per pair plus shipping. They informed me that they do not chrome plate springs but they can sell them " raw" and they can be ordered in different spring rates. Right now delivery dates are 4-6 weeks out. I will dig into other sources and post the info when I get it.

My plan for my DT400B was to get my original springs re-chromed (because of surface rust). Is that a mistake? Should I be thinking about buying new springs instead? Why? Because the old ones have lost their 'spring'? Would that be due to age or due to use? I haven't ridden my bike yet, so don't know what the springs are like...

Reason for reproducing new springs is mainly for optical reasons. If "normally" corroded, re-chromed springs will work fine, but mostly the rust marks are deep. The de-chroming with acid will remove all oxides and could leave deep holes, which you don´t expect underneath small rust spots. Re-chroming will not equalize this holes, so surface will look shiny new chrome but full of craters.
