Found this site while searching for timing specs for my 1979 GT80. I was glad to find forums here too!
I've got a few other small bikes too, ranging from a 1959 Drive X Pack Mule to Honda Trail 70.
I hope I'm able to contribute at some point!

Hi everyone, my name's Kosmo, and I'm an enduro addict.

But seriously I'm happy I found these forums! I have a 1978 Yamaha DT175 (pic below) and I've got a few videos on it here www.youtube.com/kosmoto

I'm having a problem with registering and a problem with even getting in touch with the admin. I'm using my facebook login, which I had to reactivate my facebook for, because there was literally no other way to get on here and ask for help with registration. When I try to submit my reg form, I get an error message saying that I have a missing field, which isn't the case. Then, when I try to submit a form to e-mail the admin, it's telling me I'm doing SOMETHING too fast, and then just locks me out after 3 patient attempts to send the e-mail. Wacky. Can an admin help me out please? I'd like to re-register with an account that's not linked to a dead facebook account. Cheers!

Hello,
Found this site as I thought I would look into recreating my 1970 Mexican 1000 bike, CT1 with a 125 top end, DT1 forks, DT1 hubs front & rear, built to survive and finished 5th !
Gotta start by finding a fiberglass turtle tank.

Started out with a Taco 22 mini-bike in 1963, a 1965 YDS3 was next, several YG1’s, new YG5T, new 69 DT1S and numerous AT1mx’s 69, 70, 71, 72, 72 DT2mx
Worked as a mechanic at two of the bigger Yamaha dealers in San Diego from 1967 – 1989, started out as a summer job in high school and lasted 22 years !
Was getting paid $2.00 a bike to prep bikes for sale, this required removing crates from flatbed truck, assemble all loose parts, adjust cables, tire pressures, fill battery and charge, check and fill all oils, bleed oil pump, gas it up, clean all the cosmoline off & wash, test ride and ready for sale.
After about 50 -70 bikes they hired me at $1.40 hour, my first “real world” financial lesson, I was now making less money to do the same job !! But I was “in the door” !! and a steady job, after two years my dad cosigned for my used 65 GTO ! Nothing like a GTO with bumper racks….

Carlsbad, Saddleback Park, 70 Mexican 1000, 71 Baja 500, Ensenada, Dist. 38, Dehesa, Hell On a Hill, just a few places I bashed my kidneys !!
Just starting to unbox tools and parts that haven’t seen the “light of day” since 1989 !

Dave

Welcome! Dave. Quite a history, bet you have a lot of great stories to tell! If you have any old pictures of your 1000 bike post them up and maybe someone can help find the tank.

In 1969 I was making $1.40 per hour plus tips clearing tables and washing dishes in a restaurant. At the end of the night 5 waitresses would each give me $6.00 cash. That was the peak of my financial wealth relative to the cost of living. The only expense I had was toys including my first bike, a '68 Honda Mini Trail that I bought new for $180 that I earned from delivering newspapers the previous year.

It took a month of delivering newspapers daily to make what I made in one night at the restaurant.
The hours spent riding my Enduros is not deducted from my life span.
