Not sure why the DT2MX pic didn't work so i've tried again

Needs the graphics putting on and the rear mudguard, sorting ignition problems at the moment but it's no far from being finished.

Pretty bike! If you attache a photo like you did, then at the bottom where it shows it attached there should be an "insert" button. Just put your cursor where you want the pic, the click insert.

There is some photo attaching information in the "How to use the Website" section too.

OK I've been lurking long enough. Time to post.
Hello from Aloha OR, just west of Portland. I first got in to enduros back in the mid 70s when I got a used 1971 HT1B 90cc while in junior high school. I rode the hell out of it, painted it a few different colors then finally relegated it to my parents barn. When they moved from Eugene to Portland, it came with them and sat in the chicken coop for about 25 years. I made one attempt in the pre-internet days to fix it up and paint it yellow but never got past primering the metal. Then a couple of years ago at a BMW rally a friend of my brothers had her 1971 Honda 90 that her mom bought new and that got me to thinking. I still have my very first motorcycle just waiting to be restored.

Here's how it looked. The tanks were on a shelf with primer and rust spots.

After a winter and a lot of research and learning to spray automotive candy paint, I now have this.

Then I had an itch to scratch, so I redid a 1969 AT1E 125cc.

Then my brother got nostalgic for the 1971 CT1C 175cc he got when I got my 90cc. We found one in Puyallup WA, and here it is now.

Next up, a 1971 RT1B 360cc.

Welcome . . . glad you posted

OMG! :woohoo: . . . what beautiful bikes!!

We have a "Paint" thread . . . www.yamaha-enduros.com/index.php/kunena-...=Devin&childforums=1

It would be awesome if you could post any new information about the type of paint & paints codes you used on those three bikes.

I used Sherwin Williams automotive paint that they color matched for me. First silver, then the candy color, then several coats of clear. Wet sand with 1500 grit paper and buff then it shines like glass. The AT1E was an Acura white pearl.

I also made some new gauge faces for the 125 and 175.

Here's the before on the 175

And after. My brother broke the glass on one, but since I also restore clocks, I got a new one out of a catalog for about $1.50.

Nice work. Do you have a source for the glass? Catalogue? Website? Part number?
