Welcome! from the UK. I'll apologise now for you getting your asses kicked on Saturday (just like at the cricket!!). :haha :haha

Anyway, looks to me like you've got yourself a 1973 RT3 in Baja Brown, although the frame and engine number will both start RT1.

Nice looking bike. Just make sure that the decompression valve is working correctly - these bikes are prone to the odd kick back.

Check out all of the various manuals in the Tech Library here.

Quite a few members from the southern hemisphere and I'm sure that they'll chime in once they wake up!

Hi , that's a pretty good looking RT3 for NZ .
I'm from Christchurch , and to be honest I'd have seriously considered
buying that myself , if I had the opportunity .
I have a 69 DT1 B , plus numerous road bikes .
Plenty of help here on the site .
Good Luck .

I posted separately but, hey, why not spread it around. RT1 and RT2 projects in Victoria Australia. The RT2 is nearly done and started as a basket case. The eBay description said it was running, hadn't run for years and was missing significant parts. But now coming together.

In the early 70's Australian bikes had a front fender mounted number plate ,
as well as usual rear mounted plate .

We had those in the UK, but at 90 degrees from yours (see photo). However, pedestrians weren't that keen when they came into contact with them and they were dumped in the early 70s!

Nice bikes (and car) by the way!

That is right. It wasn’t that long ago, maybe in the 1990s, that we did away with the front plate. And for years we had free travel on tollways because that had front cameras. No longer, I’m afraid.

I was asked to post a pic of the car in my avatar. It is a Mallalieu Bentley Special, built in 1976 using the chassis and running gear from a 1949 Mk6. There were 36 made in the UK in a commercial production line, there are three here in Australia. Spent several years rebuilding the engine, gearbox, diff and other bits and pieces. It is now very reliable as a freeway cruiser, they originally did 103 mph.
