It's cold here in southern Australia right now. Hub, brake plate and sprocket cover all painted and having a little rest by the fire.

Between myself, the kids and the dog, it doesn't smell great at the best of times......

Rear wheel is all laced up and done. Sprocket carrier and brake plate assembled with new sprockets and shoes. I just need 1 new oil seal, rim tapes, tubes and tyres now. Finally seeing some good progress.
With any luck, wheels will be on the bike next week.
It's an expensive process building wheels, the spokes and rims are not cheap! Very happy with the end result though.

You've spent a ton so far, as you say, but for a few more bucks, motodad24 has the sprocket keepers and bolts for sale...everything else looks so good on the hub/wheel.

I will have one of those! Looks like motodad24 has some other good DT products too.

Rear wheel has been fitted with a new tyre and tube. Pirelli scorpion mt90. Came up nice. I was hoping for a fatter tyre but was limited by the 1.85 rim.

Spent some time in the shed tonight. There was some good music on the radio and the rest of the family was sleeping.
Fitted the rear wheel and an old chain I had lying around. Will get a new chain once this thing is all up and running properly.
I have spent far too much time on the electrical on this thing.
Mounted the tail light and wired up the indicators. Almost done. Just need to do the headlight now. Does anyone know what the blue wire in the loom does? It look to be the tail light and instrument illumination. Does that sound right?

My tyre came in and the front wheel is on. Ended up with a 90/90 19 Pirelli mt60. Happy with the way it came up.
The radius on the 19" tyre is about 20mm less than the 21". Will need to shorten the travel on the forks by about 50mm I think.
Now to finish the electrical off, mount the headlight then see how she runs.

Still haven't quite got the electrical sorted so I thought I would jump onto the suspension while I am at it.
The rear shocks have pitted shafts and not worth the rebuild. They measured 305mm eye to eye which seems shorter than standard, I thought 320mm was correct length?
After much research, I ordered 330mm YSS gas charged with springs to suit 80kg rider.
The front end is off a 1990 dt200, one fork leg is appart and looks in good condition. Ordered springs, seals and emulator valves. Will also make spacers to reduce stroke length by 50mm.
Hopefully all of this will arrive early next week!
