Yamaha 1st year collection purchase. was created by SKYDANCER46
Well i guess i can't stop buying these old Yamaha's or bikes for sale just keep showing up in my retirement. I purchased this small collection because of the one and only rare "original" 1968 DT1 250! This bike has been sitting in a living room for 41 years. Best i have ever seen. 1700 miles. Nothing touch up or painted that i can see. Had to buy 4 bikes to get it.
Don't know much about these bikes:
1969 AT1 125 is also a original bike and has dealer installed and working turn signals and odd looking rear foot pegs. This one should be easy to get running.
1969 CT1 175 is a completely restored bike for show. New rims, new spokes, new chrome plating, new fork tubes, powder coated frame, very nice professional paint job. Nothing hooked up, wires or anything. supposedly rebuilt engine, Will be going completely thru this bike and getting it running. Nice looking.
1970 RT1 360 is a completely restored bike for show. Nothing hooked up, wires or anything. Supposedly complete rebuilt engine, balance and trued crank by professional engine builder, powder coated everything. All chrome plating done, professional paint on all body parts
I did start to work on the RT1 and connected all wiring correctly and she has good spark, tail light comes on with key in position 3 and both brake lights work. I tested all the other bulbs on bike and there all good and working. That's a good sign. I don't plan on putting fluids in this bike or starting it. I will check the fuel system, make sure carburetor is correct and fuel petcock. Pull head and check bore and piston and compression. That's it.
All bikes have the original tires, No dry rot, Owners manuals with 3 of them, Service manual with one of them. Bunch of paper work and receipts on all or most the work done. clear titles on all bikes.
My plan is to sell the AT1, CT1 and RT1 after i go thru the bikes. The AT1 is already spoken for. I have 3 people interested in the RT1 but nothing confirmed. The CT1 is going to be my favorite because i want to get it up and running before selling. The 68 DT1, Well who knows what i am going to do with it. Not sure if i will get it running or leave it dry and clean as is. I have never seen another like it in over 40 years. It's in incredible original condition, late model vin.
