I have used these on several bikes, and I generally have to cut an inch off both ends so as not to feel like I am throwing a longhorn at a rodeo.

Thanks mark
Ordered a set.

Soo my neutral light has never worked on this bike. I changed the bulb at the gauge, no luck.
The neutral switch has a single brown wire coming off of it. I cleaned the connector but no luck.
Any way to test the actual switch or anything else to look for?

One side of bulb should have power with key on. Other wire to bulb goes to switch on Trans and grounds the bulb when in neutral.

"Switch" is just a ball bearing that contacts a pin on the shift drum when in neutral. The ball contacting the drum grounds the wire and turns the light on.

Ground the wire at the switch on the case and the light should come on. Wire might look brown but should be a light blue.

You’re right the wire from the switch is light blue. I grounded that wire to the engine block and it wouldn’t turn the light on.

Will need to check for voltage at the bulb.

I’m not getting any power at the bulb with the key on the ON position or with the bike on.
My back lights and the high beam do work. The only issue is the neutral light

Should be Brown and Light Blue at bulb. Brown is power.

Brown might be disconnected in headlight bucket? Do you have working turn signals? If not, it's easy to mix up the turn signal brown and the power brown and plug the neutral brown into the slightly darker brown turn signal brown by mistake. If you have turn signals, you'd probably notice it wasn't right though.

Yup, brown and light blue at the bulb.

I don’t have turn signals on the bike
I’ll check in the headlight bucket.

Thanks mark!

All light browns together at the bucket
Also checked continuity from the switch to the bulb and from brown at bulb to behind the headlight and they checked out.
Hmmm what else can I look at?
