Tried a heat gun- did not work, razor blade did. Took a while but it worked. ( I only removed decals so far)

If it moves and shouldn't , use duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use liquid wrench.

If it were me and I was going to repaint the Yellow on the side panels... I would leave the old Acrylic Paint on there as it is pretty tuff stuff and will serve as a good base/primer for the new paint.
Just hit it with a Scotch-Brite pad to just remove the gloss and smooth it out and then tape it off and paint.

Good enough for me- what paint would you use?

Krylon Fusion- Apply in very thing coats and do it on a nice warm day when you can let it sit in the sun... then Scotch-Brite between each coat just again to remove the gloss so the next coat will adhere- 3 coats should do it and will hold up very nice

You might try "citristrip" which won't hurt the plastic. Also, a bit of Acetone and med steel wool as the applicator has helped me on some plastic restoration.
IF it isn't one thing, it's another.

Ok, so last night at 10:00pm, I had a brainstorm about the paint. On virtually every can/bottle of DOT 3 brake fluid are warnings about immediate removal of paint. So, I did some Google searching and found folks who used it (brake fluid) to remove paint from plastic. The only concern was would the plastic hold up??
I poured some fluid in a Cool Whip container I had in the garage - no problems there,,,then I dabbed some on a tab on the back side of the left side panel - no problems there either.
So, I wiped a thin layer on the paint of the left side panel and waited to see what happened - not much. So at that point I figured why not take some 600 grit wet sand paper and give it a rub down. Now I was making headway!
Here is what the side panel look like after some sanding using the brake fluid as the "wetting" agent
This is now at a point where I am just going to leave it as the surface should be good for having the Krylon paint (as suggested and used by GFrench) adhere to the plastic. Sometimes it's just trial and error and suggestions from knowledgable folks on this forum that eventually gets the job done.
I'll give the right side panel a rough-up tonight after I get home for a fly fishing club board meeting.
First kick is getting close, maybe this weekend?? Oh wait, Saturday is the Pleasanton Fly Fishing Show - Woot Woot!

Before you paint, do a thorough cleaning of the panel with acetone or something to get all of the brake fluid residue off!
The fusion paint, properly applied, is really tough! And it applies well. You do need a warm spot to do it . . .

Agreed on the acetone - have a can in the garage ready to go. I used it to clean up the glue residue when the decal came off above the headlight and it did a great job. That stuff is really volatile - it evaporates very quickly.
Warm spot?? I'm in California - it might be 70 degrees this afternoon,,,,,,
