Re-connect Oil Pump or Not? was created by Gearboy

I'm considering re-connecting my original oil pump on my CT1. I've been mixing my gas/oil for about 5 years now. My concern is it better for the engine to mix or use the oil pump? What is making me re-consider is the following from a Suzuki mechanic as he was talking about the lubrication of the pumps on the TS185 and the CT175:

They were much better built than the competing Yamaha CT1 175. Suzuki's oil injection system fed clean oil directly though the main bearing and picked up in an oil slinger ring on the crank which fed the lower end rod bearing directly with oil without needing the premix to lubricate these bearings. This made these engines very long lived as compared to oil mix only two strokes or oil injection systems such as the Yamaha had that only fed oil into the intake port to mix with the fuel charge.

In my opinion--If ya happy for the last 5 years & all is going well, just carry on.
If you really really want to go back to the pump & its in working order then go for it.
Just need good free cables & minimum pump stroke set, then cable roller marks aligned pretty closely & away ya go.
I broke a 'new' Suzuki hollow crankpin right through the middle once & man did it vibrate as i stopped.
Had full revs going on at the time lol.
Was a crankpin i had "under the bench" at work-- ie left over out of some job & never fitted.
Was from an early TS by memory that probably revs to a about 7 grand & my late ts/er type motor was ported & piped to theoretically about 12 grand. Ruined my day at out GP at the airforce base haha.
Taught me to not be a cheapskate & use proper parts.
Suzuki's RH main is lubed by the trans oil by memory.
