Yamaha Dt 250 1978 Spark Plug problem

Since i pulled the carb off the bike, i can check the ''choke plunger''.
I remember that i pulled it appart and cleaned it when i got the bike in order to make it run.
Im assuming the choke works, because when i try to cold start the bike without the choke, it doesnt start very good.
With the choke, it usually starts in 1 kick with a good spark plug.
And when it runs on the choke and i pull the choke off, you definitly see the difference in rpm
In fact you can hear it in the first video i posted in this thread

Im starting to think ill have to pull her appart to know the problem.

Of course we would be interested in seeing it :)

I would agree with your dad except for one slight addition - When the points are done CORRECTLY, they are done. At least until you ride it for awhile and they need to be adjusted again :)
IF it isn't one thing, it's another.

I also agree with your Dad.

The points are adjusted on (most of) these bikes to set the timing

If the points wear enough you need to toss them and get new ones.... way to tell is set the timing by when the points open and then measure the maximum point gap. If the maximum gap is within spec range (usually 0.012" to 0.016") you're good.

Usefull usefull usefull

Im trying to get a flywheel puller for this bike because the one from my RM doesnt fit.
Ive got a yamaha dealer nearby, im guessing hes gonna be able to order one.
Ive also got a brand new crankseal for the flywheel side that i have yet to install.
Since i didnt have the right flywheel puller i couldnt replace it when i replaced the wet side crankseal.

Dealer should have one... I think they still use the same puller on some of the newer bikes.

Should be 27mm x 1.0 LH thread.

Or search Amazon for "Motion Pro 08-0026"

The sound dont really matter to me since my Rm has got easily twice the power of the enduro for the same displacement.
And the RM sure sounds more powerfull, i wouldnt say the enduro sounds better, it sure sounds more raw.
If i had to choose between the 2 bikes, id take the Rm, more reliable and way more powerfull.
The one and only adventage of the enduro is the fact that it is road legal.
At idle the enduro sounds better, but on power the RM sounds better in my opinion.
Dont forget that the enduro dont have an exhaust right now.
Here is a clip from the first time i started the RM after i rebuilt the engine.
Notice that i didnt have the right exhaust seal so it didnt have one in this video.
I didnt install the muffler since i didnt know if it would run.
Im sorry for the camera-girl who stoped filming for no reason.
