Ok. I think I have only posted photos of three bikes so far because the photos were supposed to be taken during a ride showing the bike out in its element. I am realizing now that most of my bikes don't leave my 6 acre parcel of land. And some don't even leave my immediate lawn or yard. So I am going to post the remainder of my bikes as they are, where they were....

My GT80 was the only bike I bought off eBay. I drove from Michigan to Illinois for this little gem, and I'm not the least bit sorry. All I've done is add gas and oil and ride it around the yard and occasionally down the gravel roads to either of my boys homes. I'm sure one of my 3 grandkids will eventually take their toll on it.

This is my little DT100. I bought it from a small motorcycle shop as a roller missing many items. I got it running and did an off-road refurbishing which is what I do to these Enduros when they are missing more items than they have in tact. I replaced all the oil seals, crank seals, fork seals, etc. I paint where most people polish. I use universal aftermarket parts in many cases. But the end result is still a fun ride that brings a lot of smiles to people's faces that remember these bikes from that era. I set a target not to exceed $1,000 dollars including the purchase price of the bike. So if I find a nice one that doesn't need much, well then I spend a little more on the purchase price, as long as it doesn't surpass my $1,000 limit. This 100 was well under that limit.

I got this DT125 from a farmer in Ohio for $300. It ran great, but was completely stripped of all the lights, gauges, rack, etc. I was fortunate to find a local fellow who was parting out the exact same bike. The engine and the tins were already sold. I obtained a majority of my missing items for $5 per part. You can't beat that. It allowed me to finish this bike as you see it, and I kept it under my $1,000 max target.

This DT175 came home with me from Mid-Ohio in the exact condition you see it. It was up for $1,300 but I got it for my max limit of $1,000. Actually I got for like $986 because I emptied my wallet and my wife's purse right in front of the man trying to come up with 1k. He cut me some slack and it came home with me. To give you an idea of the kind of people you meet at Mid-Ohio, this guy handed me the keys and let me ride the bike for most of the day while he raced his vintage MX. That is what sold the bike right there. Someday I'll put a correct front fender on it, but it is painted so well that I might just leave it.

This CT175 was obtained for $600. He was asking $700, but it wouldn't start when I came to pick it up. Judging from his obvious frustration, I was pretty confident he simply flooded the bike since it as about 25F that day. I got it home with a fresh plug and it started first kick. The bike was missing all the enduro parts, so I finished it off with my typical off-road rendition. I obtained a brand new, in the box expansion chamber and the way this thing crackles is something to behold. I have no intentions of adding a silencer. Lol

Got this CT175C for $450. The seller was probably about 35 years old. Said it was his dad's bike and his dad had passed away a few years ago. The bike was kept at their cottage in northern Michigan. At one point the bike was stolen from the storage shed. The police found it laying in a roadside ditch. Most likely some young troublemakers joy riding till it ran out of gas. His father was so angry that he stashed the bike in the basement of the cottage for safe keeping. That was well over 15 years ago. The son dragged it out of the basement and brought it home to sell as is, not running, and still hot wired from the thieves. He got a little emotional as we were loading it in the truck, but said his father would be glad that it was going to someone like me that will truly appreciate it. I plan to keep it simple on this one.

I purchased this 1975 DT175 for $250 and planned to use it as a parts bike for my 76 DT175. MarkT later educated me on the fact that there are several differences between the 75 and 76 model years. So since this bike does have spark and it seems to have real good compression, it is now in line for a future off-road refurbishing at well under my cost target. These photos are straight from the CL add. I haven't taken any photos of this bike since I brought it home and stashed in the corner of my barn.

Someone pointed out that this bike was once parked within reach of a horse........the seat I assume.

I obtained this DT250 from the original owner for $500 because it had no spark and they had given up on it years ago. They had a hard time parting with it because the owner had passed and the grandson had the bike. Once they learned that I had a collection of old Enduros it seemed to ease their minds and they let it go.

I for the life of me could not get this bike to fire. Out of frustration, I purchased another same year DT250 for another $500 that was in awful condition, but fired up and ran great. I swapped parts back and forth and determined the original bike had a bad coil and a bad ignition switch.

So I am at my max limit of $1,000, but I have a complete spare bike that I know will run again and I will one day give it an off-road refurbishing.

I obtained this DT360 bike for $350, and it was in very poor condition. Worse than I typically like to take on, but it was a DT360 and I don't see them come up very often in that price range. The worst part about the bike was that the PO camouflage painted the entire bike. He just walked up and started painting in three shades of roughage. Currently the gas tank is all that shows the remains of his vandalism. I wet sanded the tank until the original decals showed thru, and that is how I left it. I have the new decals, but haven't had the ambition to take on the repaint yet.

This DT400 was posted earlier in this thread with no story line. My two sons gave this to me for a birthday present. They bought it from the original owner for $100. The engine was locked up solid. It turned out that water got behind the side cover and seized the flywheel to the side cover. It fired right up after a proper cleaning. The original owner was big into hill climbs, anything that protruded from the bike was bent or broken off, hence the reason I went for another Off-Road Rendition. This bike starts easy and it really rips. The rear sprocket is huge and I assume that is due to his love for hill climbs. But it makes it a very rideable tight trails bike, and when that tight trail straightens out.....hang on!
