Wow! Nice job! I love that first start after bringing one of these old girls back from the dead... it's amazing how good they run sometimes... and how much they smoke! :likey :likey :likey

If I remember, you had the hacked up wiring? I think I said this in your other thread but the starter motor itself is NOT fused. There should be a wire directly to the starter from the battery and teeing off that is the fuse that powers the regulator/key switch... If the main cable at the battery has a fuse that all power needs to go through, then someone has wired it wrong. (sorry for the thread hijack)

Parts arrived. Unfortunately badges are the wrong ones. If anyone wants to buy them pm me.

The side cover and tail light are perfect.

Why would a brand new oem Yamaha fuel tap washer not fit the tap. It’s just slightly too big

Maths I’ll try shrink it in boiling water

Most likely because the petcock and/or parts have been updated over the years or someone swapped to an aftermarket one at some point.

It’s definitely Yamaha oem petcock.

I’ll take a photo of it.

I have exactly the same on my 175.

It's not unknown for Yamaha superseded parts not to fit some of the earlier models :Ugh Crankcase breather plugs and indicator lenses are two that I've come across.
