You can also shape foam with a wire wheel for fast removal than switch to "dragon skin" or a rasp for fine tuning. To smooth the results more you can also flash it with a heat gun.

Drywall sanding blocks work well to for shaping foam, lite pressure. different grits for roughing and finishing.

If it's just a beater, use a bit of baling wire. Poke it through, cut to length and wrap both ends around.

Both bikes have been sold. Really hate to see the DT2 go, good little bike ! Had big plans for it but just developed a medical issue with my right arm and shoulder, so wouldn't be able to work on it this winter or ride anyways. Hopfully all goes good and maybe i can find another 250 late spring or early summer?? Maybe a 1970 model!
