Very nice, great find! I love my 250A. The best riding and handling of all my enduros.

I'm with the group that says do as little as possible and keep the patina.
A nice haul of spares there and my comments are:-
1) Use a spread sheet or your admin of choice to document each spare.
2) I see that a lot are numbered - you can pump this number into CMSNL or Partzilla and see exactly what they are and which other bikes had them fitted (this will run into hundreds for things like nuts). On CMSNL. enter website, select Yamaha, then select motorbike, then type the part number into the top search box. I'm sure that Partzilla will be similar.
3) I think I see used screws/bolts in one of the bags - these might be the originals that were replaced!
4) Check the fitted and spare headlight with a 6v battery to see if they work or not. If not, and they are the standard sealed beam unit, they are probably only good for the bin, but make sure that you remove any fitments first (inner ring, adjusting bits and bobs etc).
5) Only an outside chance of this, but have a look to see if there is any evidence of a replacement 12v system having been fitted.
6) If the answer to 5 above is no, fit a 6v voltage regulator - see link below.

I found the hardware for the intake boot and the rubber and hardware for the rear of the muffler in one of the many hardware bags. Major score there, saves me big coin as those dampers are pricey.

Paint code/name for the fins on the cylinder? Also, were the springs on the rear shocks painted the same silver as the fenders on this model/year?

The cylinder is off for machine work, NOS Yamaha piston and rings ordered. Wheels are going to get the Buchanans treatment so that'll be nice and the carb will be rebuilt as well. Going with new points, need to check the oil pump and it'll get a NOS original 6V battery as well. I plan to have the tanks PDR'd to remove or improve the few small dings and then I'll ceramic coat them to preserve the "survivor" patina. The fenders, head light bucket, tail light stalk and head light forks will all be repainted but I am going to leave the character on the frame as is. I'll finish it off with the new seat cover and maybe some light polishing on the cases and fork lowers. I am hoping to have all of this wrapped up by the end of September, wish me luck.
