Update on this saga, good news! The PO was able to get a title for the bike from Vermont with the information I found on Vermont's website, so that's all good now. Of course he made me pay for the title which I think it an A hole move, my way of thinking is if you sell a bike/car or whatever that has a title that title is part of the sale and not separate. Anyway, it's done, I have a title so now hopefully Florida will not give me any more crap and let me transfer it into my name.

What a mess! Hope it works out for you, maybe Ebay the bike without a title and let the new buyer know about the problem? What if you just tell the DMV never registered in FL and title lost years ago?

Thanks Eddy, it did all work out in the end. After me doing some research I found out that if you had your bike registered in Vermont but were selling it you could apply for a title, so I contacted the seller and he agreed to do that. What a headache all that was for sure!
