Sleeper pipe arrived safe and sound. Can’t wait to get this mounted up and see if the sleeper wakes it up a little!

Hi I rode my DT2 'in anger' for the first time at the weekend and got smoked by a few other bikes so an upgrade in performance would be a good move. Obviously being in the UK this is not a cheap exercise for me so want to make sure it gives a decent improvement. Do you have any figures or feedback on them that would help?
Thanks for your time - Dave

A stock DT2 doesn't make much power compared to a modern 250.... there is a Yamaha DT hop up article in the archives here. You may want to check that out?
How's your compression...have you taken a reading cold ? Have you checked your timing ? If its retarded it will make your bike weak. Also how is your jetting ?

Sounds like you may need more than a Sleeper Pipe to turn your bike into a fire breather ?

Dave the message was for the other Dave looking for performane for his 250. Also to be noted that the recomendations in that hop up tech articla are very out dated , they are from the dark ages , better concepts can be had . Sure performance can be gained over stock doing what they said but would not be nearly as good as one could achieve .

Absolutely Rich....your porting techniques are much more "state of the art" . I offered up the article because he is on the "other side of the pond" and it may be more practical for him to use some of those mods ? Now excuse me it's time for my blood letting with leeches ! :cheer:
