Mr DEET did the research and gets all the credit. I just passed it along.

I can tell you I use these on the 75-76 DT400's, and the work great. They look slightly different than the originals, but being current production bits for more current bikes, I think it is safe to assume the inner rubber bits are designed taking modern fuel additives into consideration.
IF it isn't one thing, it's another.

This looks great! Do we know what the diameter of the outlet fitting Is?
Trying to rescue a forlorn 1973 CT3. Wish me luck!

The following information came from member DEET. He did the research and bought the various petcocks to measure and try.

3JN-24500-02-00 (Mako's favorite)
Right Side Outlet: 7mm

2GU-24500-02-00
Right Side Outlet: 8mm

23F-24500-00-00
Right Side Outlet: 6mm
On this one handle sits about an inch below the tank... my understanding is that it has more clearance than the two above

We all owe DEET a thank you for this information!

The above is correct. I like the 3JN model as it works flawlessly with the 1/4" Urethane fuel line that I like to use on these bikes.

Took your advice, bought some for the bikes and took care of the reserve issue with shorter stand pipe. Was able to salvage the fuel filter on stand pipe that was shortened.

Thank you for the advice!!

If it moves and shouldn't , use duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use liquid wrench.

I have a 1981 DT175 (not on the list). While cleaning the petcock I snapped off the plastic reserve inlet filter. Any suggestions where to find 1) a new filter or 2) a cheap petcock assembly. $50 for the replacement assembly at most part sites!

Your late model DT175 probably has the "threaded bung" style...

Those are even more common... I don't know the thread size off hand though...

Look up eBay item number: 181791169645 for a similar part or one that might work just fine. $13.99 with free shipping.

(links from here to ebay seem to be broken)

Just to clarify... I don't know for a fact that the petcock on ebay I mentioned will fit your bike. I do think it's the correct "style" and there are a lot of different sizes on ebay cheap.

I have a YG1 petcock and a 1980 DT175 tank so over the weekend I can check how close they are if you'd like.
