1970 HT1 90 CC Spec Needed was created by The Bo

Anyone know the resistance spec for "Flywheel Magneto" ignition coil?
Only getting orange color spark after new points, condenser and plug.  Primary and secondary ignition coil resistances do meet published specs.

Many thanks in advance,
The Bo

Any spark is better than none & take a bit of oomph to jump a spark, although takes more to do that under compression. Have you tried starting it & it won't run. Source coil resistance on an LT3 is 2.1 ohms. Lt3 is just an HT1 on steroids but doubt the magneto changed much. I sort of feel if it jumps a spark at all its gotta be in with a chance. But condenser can have an affect a bit like you're saying with a yellow flash rather than concentrated blue. I'm just plucking ideas out of the air. I dunno. Get someone to spin the back wheel in about 3rd gear up on a box & in the dark you look in at the points & see if they're going mad or just minimal arcing.

MY HT1 starts only 2/3 of the time.  Believe spark is weak as shown by the color and needs to be stronger to start 100% of the time.  Non-starting is a major pain.  Will try doing as you suggested.
Thank you.

Also spark plug cap checked/replaced?

Resistance is usually in the one to two ohm range with points open and zero with points closed.  Best to use an analog meter with Rx1 scale.  Many digital meters don't work well for this.
