Any Ideas on what year and model this is? was created by Charlie72
Hi All,
I saw this bike for sale in my area but seller doesnt know much about the bike other than it being a 125.
Any guesses on the year and model (AT/DT etc.) based on the pictures?

My guess is AT2 (1972) or AT3 (1973).
Best way to ID is get the VIN, so many parts were interchangeable and that one definitely has had some parts changed, plastic tank, etc.
(Looks like it has Curnutt shocks on the rear)

Agreed Mark350. The yellow headlight shell and fork ears + the large generator bulge on the left make me think it is a 1970 At1.

The barrel must be a '72 or later, reed valve not piston port.

Mark350, yes, reed valve and early forks were first things that caught my eye.
Initially, it looked to me like cases have the "recessed" Yamaha logo cast in (72-73) instead of the earlier "raised" logo but now I'm not sure. Photos aren't great.
Key switch is up on bars which is 71 minimum but could be swapped. Also is using the early rear pipe mount, can't tell from photos if the 72-73 under seat pipe bracket is there.
Looks like a 21" front wheel swap too along with plastic tank and fenders. Either the VIN, better and more photos, or a real expert are going to be needed to tell exactly.
I miss hearing from Enduronut (and Devin) when questions like this come up, they were both good at spotting and identifying minute details most of us miss.
