"Im unsure the year of the bike as it had no log"
Apologies if you've done and posted on this already, but what is the engine number, specifically the first three characters?
Are the engine and frame numbers the same? It is often possible to fit an engine from one year into a frame from another.

So the frame number is different to the bike
sadly the original clutch basket was broken and
Had no disc of either solid or friction with it
I know the basket number as the original has
Both the numbers are the same on the original basket
and another one I brought.... Will measure the
plates and see what they are

If you post the engine number, then we can let you know what you have.
Edit - Apologies, I see that Mark has already mentioned that it is a 1976 model.

Clutch friction plate part number is 559-16321-01.
Superseded by 36X-16321-00-00.
Either will suffice.
To check what year your frame is, use the VIN table in the Tech Library.

Wow what a difference, the difference we were looking for in fact. I guess thanks to MarkT & others that knew of the changes from "75 to "76. Learning curve for me in that respect too.
