battery was created by marbs

Hi there
New here. Just got my first ever 2 stroke dirt bike. Yamaha dt125 a. Probly a dumb question, but I don't see any way to get the battery out without removing a lot of other parts. What am I missing?
thanx

Welcome!

Manuals are in the Tech Library here but first thought is did you notice the seat latch on left side of bike?  Release it and seat will open up.  Battery should pull out the top fairly easy.

Total guess on my part. But if 6 volt kick start only it'll come out the top under the seat--seat hinges away sideways.
If 12 volt electric start it'll be behind the oil tank--or not--maybe 125A had exhaust on the opposite side to what im thinking.
Welcome from NZ if you're new.

From what I remember on mine is you have to unscrew the oil tank and the battery comes out the side from behind the tank. It’s held in with a rubber strap. The tank should have two small cables that hold it from falling off but far enough out of the way to change the battery.

Thanx for the replies. I found I do have to remove the oil tank to remove the battery. Poor design in my book.
