Happy with the way this is turning out. One of the cuts is filled in.
rear mount strengthened.
A little more welding, grinding, paint and we should be ready to test it out.

Nice progress, has a nice OEM look to it.... like it was made for that bike.

Welding and grinding done. A quick spray of paint on the bare metal and bolted onto the bike.
Made a gasket for the muffler and cleaned out the baffle.
Starts a, runs and idles well.
Just waiting for the rain to stop then I can test ride.
Very happy with the look of it, hopefully it has a positive affect on performance too.

It's all about the looks!
It's a 1974 DT with a stock engine. It certainly is not fast.
Big fun factor though.

Yep, me thinking that too--looks fast, color scheme & all that. Be interesting to hear the results compared to original pipe considering it's a standard motor. Lookin good.

I got a quick ride in today. Pulls well of the line, then bogs down mid range and it weak at higher revs too. Feels lean. Will try some richer settings and see how it goes.
My welding is also as crap as I remember. There are some leaks that will need to be sealed up.

I really like the looks of your bike. I'm in the design stage of building a DT1 short tracker. You "will" have jetting work to do with that pipe. Hopefully it won't be too pesky. I have 2 questions for you. 1, where did you get the rear seat fender combo? 2, what is your Husqvarna in the background?
