Not sure why things are going like they are, but I purchased another 1974 DT 250, probably in as good or better condition than the first, and it has the passenger seat.

It gets confusing here sometimes... someone else jumped in and posted pictures of their 75... confused me too... yours definitely looks like a 74. :likey

I think I will make the project a 2 fr, I have a 15 yo son that wants to learn to ride. Im going to put an order in to KDI for seat covers, grips and shoes. Then we will go through the electrical and carbs, tires from Rocky Mountain, lube cables, and oil and hopefully by spring we can both be on matching bikes!! Even with matching dents!!

Looks like you did well on both bikes. I am excited to see where these builds go.

I am currently picking up NOS parts to rebuild the top and bottom end on my '74 DT250A. I am going in a much different route, this will be a very, very clean and all original bike when done but I will have a pretty penny invested when done too. I keep my eyes peeled for a rough runner to buy but they always seem to come in clumps around here every few months and then all but disappear for months at a time.

I actually purchased a third bike, it doesn’t have a title, but it is mostly complete, motor turns over , but has a knock in the lower end. But it will give me parts for the other 2 - 74 250’s as well as my 74 -360.

My 75 has the twist off gas cap. Looks like a 74 to me. Maybe earlier, I’m not familiar with the earlier ones.

75 had radial fin hear, black motor, twist fuel cap.

Try The Vintage Spoke for the turn signals. Nice reproductions, very reasonable price.
