If the pressure plate doesn't have splines to grab the center then you need a steel in last. Think you ended up with a fiber if i read your last comment right. BUT--its working good so leave it alone until you 'need' to take the cover off. Just means the drive is taken up on the spring post but it'll survive. Enjoy it now!!.
