DT360 was created by jsmith6752

I am having wire troubles. My headlight bucket looks like a birds nest. While trying to get my turn signal working I had the left side doing fine. I am getting feedback from somewhere that causes the flasher to act strange. It flashes on bright and them blinks to a dim state. I discovered a black wire with a green sleeve that has 6 volts with only the key on. It maybe goes to the CDI? I am unable to find a nice color schematic. Any advise would be appreciated.  thanks

You may want to consider posting pictures of everything you describe.

I know of 1 black wire w/green (dk) sleeve on a DT360 and that is from the R turn signal.

DT400B = Color Wiring Diagram. Tech Docs. There is a color diagram towards last pages of DT360 Service manual.

Do the bulbs on R side match L side w/regard to wattage and in good shape? I would consider adding a newer turn signal power supply, a 2 wire solution once you figure things out.   Makes things simple. "LF1-S-PIN"

Sorry, liked instead of hitting reply but all good. Anyway, you could check you flashers just as lights by bypassing the relay, just turns them into lights only. Dark drown left & dark green right. Just thinking if you have non original flashers with two wires coming out then one will be earth if the wires come out of a rubber mounted bulb socket then may not matter which wire you use so long as one to earth black & other to left or right dark b & dark g. On the other hand if they're original & earthing through the body then the only wire out might have a brown or green sleeve. I write confusing at times sorry.

Thank you for your reply. As fair as I can tell I do need to check the bulbs to make sure they are the same. Good point. I will try my hand at posting a picture. thanks

I recommend disconnecting all of the wires in the headlight bucket, pull them all out of the hole at the back and then remove the bucket completely. You will then have a lot more room and much better light to see what's what.

All wires are colour coded and, with the possible exception of positive black wires coming from the indicators, they should only be connected to a wire of the same colour.

Methodically plug each wire into one(s) with a matching colour.

I have, on a new thread, posted a guide to using Imgur and photos will help us assist you with your problems.

I had considered doing that. I was a little afraid of it. I think you talked me into it.

Yay, ya doing better than me, I only manage to post the link. Regarding the regulator taking up space in the headlight bucket. I would mount it anywhere but there & run a wire to the instrument blue. Has to be earthed but some bikes had then mounted under the airbox by the rear wheel with an earth wire from its mount to a loom earth black. Then the regulator yellow found a blue close by which mightve been tail light blue but all goes back to the same place. That's providing tail light is magneto powered like ours down here & not battery like some USA models which won't be blue. I'm always happy to be corrected--till I think I'm right haha.

my color coding system is a little to be desired. They are not real uniform. I am still baffled about the black wire with the green sleeve having 6 volts when the key is turned on. Right now it's not hooked to anything.
