Thanks for putting up some pics of the rebuild. Out of curiosity what is the shaft diameter on the thermal flow shocks?

Forgot the thickness of the bronze guide I made on my Lathe and can´t measure any more.
I chosed the thickness the way that bronze guide thickness plus oil shaft seal thickness exactly fit into the cap, not overlap.

This way, everything holds into place and is sealed after mounting.
Next step was sand blasting and powder coating the housing, mounting and fill with 175ml oil (10W).

Finally mount the springs and work is done. Damping seems to be ok. My bike restoration is not finished, yet, so I can not ride. Motor has to be repaired ....

FWIW, I made a call to Race Tech asking about sealheads for the Thermal Flow shocks. They do not have them.

Your bushing setup looks nice.

You might find though, the oem setup uses the steel disc, that is under the sealholder, is acting as the bushing that the shaft rides on.

Bought a Trick Kit for Thermal Flows. New Old Stock with instructions. Not sure if these have been discussed here or not. Be curious to see what differences , or changes they make to the shocks.

I have zero experience with these thermal phase shocks, so this is great help. I also read where someone has come up with a seal kit since this rebuild was posted, but I cannot find that thread again. Does anyone know of the seal kit and who to contact?
Restoring a bike is a lot of fun. These threads have been real helpful.
Thanks
Tom
