The Honda XR70R had the forks on backwards. I initially thought someone slapped on the wheel just to roll the bikes, but axle was tight and brake cable operating(sort of).

Thanks Mark

I didn't buy this, but I can't stop looking at it. The longer you look, the more impressive it is. Best I can tell is it might be a bent framed '82 yz with an earlier air cooled engine, late 90s yz front end and wheels -- including the disc rear but with no place to mount a caliper.

It's listed as an '83 yz250 with real potential

The PO of my DT360 spliced a wire off the source coil directly to the headlight. I wonder if it worked. Rather not try it though.

Ah yes, but the tire rotation was probably correct.

I'm joking, I'm joking.

Talking 'up there' in post #33 of someone been running the headlight of the source coil--or trying to. Back in about "78 we could get 'Wieder Kits' for enduro riding just to make it legal as in headlight & tail had to work at the end of the enduro or you lost points--or gained points you didn't want as it was. Anyway--kit comprised--by memory--of a sealed beam light unit plus tail light & an electronic box that sucked minimal power from the ignition cdi source coil for the headlight & tail light. Headlight was 3 watt & guess tail light was about the same. My neighbor had one on his YZ125E. I thought being a cheap arse i'll see if i can make one. So pinched the Safeasleep electric blanket very heavy adjustable box--low- med- high & not sure what bulbs i used but replaceable type. Think i just had the two bulbs sitting there not in reflectors to experiment. So got it running on "my" 125E & did work to a point. Good light on low then bright on medium but starting to misfire & cut out on high. Stupid experiments i've done haha,

when buying my DT360, I asked owner ( 2 hrs away)...Do turn signals and speedo/tach work?  No response.

Got there and...instruments spaced w/chip of wood, no cables(instead had huge nuts bolting down the instruments), wrong mounting tray and instruments(were for something  73 or earlier). Tailight was jb welded huge glob of mess.  wish I had a pic of that.  Thats last one I buy sight unseen.

I bought an early DT1b a few years back ... seller didn't really know what he had. Advertised as siezed and no kick start...
I had it collected from the north of England and brought south.
On arrival I was impressed with the farm fix the PO used to plug the kickstart hole when they removed the kick start shaft .....

They had also put a Reed valve piston in a non Reed valve engine .....

Bike turned out well in the end .....

cheers

I don't have a pic but the CT3 i bought in 2017 had the headlamp held on the mounts with two bolts ( very good almost there ) which had been drilled out for a split pins.
Only thing was they used a washer, then a  cigarette butt as a spacer to take up the slack on each side and a nail instead of the split pin to finish the job off.
That bike went through the MOT test and passed.
