Did a 140 mile loop on the 'ol DT1 last weekend. Modesto to Livermore, did a bike show, then back home.
Bike show with DT1, an X6 Hustler and '72 RT2
DT1 on the Interstate 5 overpass in Tracy CA on Linne Road.

Wow what a great ride!
not to get too personal, but how much do you happen to weigh, how much gas did you burn and how hilly on average was your route?
I have a dt1e and am trying to determine whether i need to bring gas to get up a mountain by my house.
Thanks
Martin

I'm about 215 all wet on the bike. Filling at about the 55-60 mile mark was to just under 2 gallons, and was still on the main of the petcock, not reserve. 160 main jet, clip is 2nd from the bottom, a little fat but I'll take the protection, and autolube, no premix. It's a pretty flat ride, with 1 minimal hilly range to cross. Pretty decent headwind heading west and all at my back heading east.

(Repeat of a previous post)
"I bought this DT250B from the original owners for $500 because it had no spark and they had given up on it years ago. They had a hard time parting with it because the owner had passed and the family kept the bike. Once they learned that I had a collection of old Enduros it seemed to ease their minds and they let it go."
Well a cool thing happened the other day. I had text a photo of the bike to the family (son) and said I got it running and it cleaned up well. They text back saying they were so glad I ended up with the bike and they included a photo of the original owner on the bike shortly after he bought it.

Blackhat250, that certainly is a great 'Scottish' colour

and it makes it stand out from the yellow used on many 400's (and 250's). Some colours work and others don't and I reckon you've nailed it with your paint job..........BUT (and there's always a but

) Isn't that the ugliest tail light assembly you've ever seen on a trail bike? Like you I have a UK bike and since I'm hoping to keep it absolutely stock I'm looking to give my bike the 'tombstone' light unit (thanks G8uncleal for enlightening me that's what they are called). I must be crazy really when I compare it with the neat rectangular or circular arrangements used in other countries, which I much prefer. Anyway putting that to one side you've built a great bike there. All the best Andy.
