I'm not Mark :) but increasing 1 tooth on the primary is a good place to start. it is equal to going about 4-5 teeth down or your rear sprocket. It is the less expensive of the sprockets and you usually don't have to add or remove chain links, just readjust the chain

Thanks. It’s currently a 16t and I was hoping a 17t would gear it up a tad but not too much. I’ll probably give it a try, an 18t I’m assuming would be too much.

17t should work good.

(I think 17t is biggest that will fit your bike anyway.... )

I bought a chain and sprockets kit from a ebay seller “jawzys” the kit consisted of both sprockets “JT” brand and “Bike Master” brand chain, I originally bought them for a 1976 Yamaha IT400 with the front sprocket being a 15 tooth and the rear a 46 tooth the chain is a 520-104 links which was the stock gearing for that bike, he has many tooth count combinations available, I can’t vouch for the quality of the parts as I never used them, they are still brand new in the packaging, I paid $51.00 for the kit, they look to be decent quality, Not sure if they would fit your bike, but if you or anyone is interested in them, I will ship them in the U.S. for $40 delivered to your door. Either way look up the seller and see if he has what you need if these won’t work for you.
