You all know back when we all should /  payed more attention to them little bikes  .

Hey ! We All rode them

I need to get me one soon.

But I have Tim's kid chomping at the bit, for this little beaut.

I have a 1969 Yamaha L5T. It is in pretty nice condition, But I am not sure if it is performing as it should. According to Yamaha, This bike would hit 60 miles per hour, but honestly It sounds like its going to explode when it hits 40, and that is in the high crankase setting. Sames story in the low setting, It sounds like that at 15 to 20 mph. Did yamaha Overstate the performance of these bikes? Anyone who has ridden/owned one with input would be greatly appreciated- Thanks, Robert

Rob, start a  new thread , show us some pictures. or better yet , a video of your bike running.
If you start a thread, you will get more eyes on it other than hiding it on this one.
That's the best way to get more help with your problem. Good Luck Brother !!

OK. With that cry for help out there .
Time to look at the air filter.
Hmmm..only 1 out there on EBAY. Expensive NOS. paper filter.
Wonder if it's any good !?!  being it is close to almost 60 years old. I don't want it to disintegrate and get sucked into the carb !

Looks like its time to get creative. This might be a FUN adventure !!

You don't need the bar?  Just the flip-up footrest part?

Some had solid footrests...  I'm still looking for mine...  stashed it someplace about 12 years ago.
