Hammer, I found the two wire trail tech regulator. One yellow and one orange wire? How do you wire it up? How would you adjust it?

The search on this forum is one of the many things that work very well... Here are a couple threads that might help:

Mark I did a search. Spent 2-3 hours in fact. Maybe just me but a lot of confusing contradicting information. I just want my headlight and illumination bulbs to quit blowing. So if I am reading all this right. You mount the trail tech preferably somewhere that get air. Brown wire goes to ground. Yellow wire goes to blue wires inside headlight bucket and this will solve the problem?

I believe that’s correct. I, too have the same regulator coming and an HR led 6v bulb, and will get a conversion headlight housing that MAKO recommended.

To be clear I am running 6 volt bulbs in all my bikes. Will this trail tech regulator still do the job?

No. You would have to run a 12v headlight which will be dim at low revs.

Get the stock Yamaha "one wire" regulator. Used ones come up on ebay cheap if you look. Or use the three wire regulator DEET recommends. There are other 6V AC regulators out there but some don't work according to DEET.

Ok we’re getting some where. How does one wire up the three wire? I need 4 of these set ups so I need to not make a mistake on what I buy.

I've only used the one wire Yamaha.

IIRC the 3 wire has input, output, ground... best person to ask for more wiring specifics is member DEET (or maybe the seller.)
