Anybody have any experience with some of the reproduction gas tanks for dt400's that are advertised on ebay? Mine is totally shot beyond repair.

I'm having the same issue with mine. I would like to hear of any feedback on these also. The reviews of these show a lot of leaking issues being common.

Don't tell me that, I just bought one a few days ago (unpainted). I guess I'll pressure test it when it comes in, did you try sealing it or does it need to be rewelded?

If my repro tank from India don't pan out I may need another one. What's the best way to test for leakers? I was going to seal the cap area, supply 1-2 psi air to the petcock flange and submerge the tank in water and look for bubbles. Is there a better way?

May we know how much does it weighs? The Repro tank VS the original.
With steel copies, they usually use thinner gauge than what being used on stock unit.

I’ve seen them on EBay, better than nothing but I’d pass on the painted ones with their decals as they look just horrendous! The fonts are all jacked up and setup/placement is not good.

OK! Here we go again, I found another DT400 to restore. Tank is completly rusted out on the bottom. I spent three hours scouring through Sport Wheels in Mn to no avail. Found no less than 20 tanks either 250 or 400 and all trashed.
I'm going to have to find out about the tanks from India! Of course I've got a new set of decals so I can take the weird ones off and replace them with good ones. I'll let you know when it gets here how it works out.

Back out again, I found a good clean 76 250 tank for a bit more money but it's in the USA! Won't be able to help on the repop tank issue.
