Thanks Gr8uncleal....I'll make sure to check for that when I dig back into this tomorrow!  I'm still hopeful that I'll find something relatively "simple" to correct....as opposed to tracing it to some sort of issue with a bad stator or lighting coil, etc.

, but my money is something simple.

Shouldn't be directly related to stator or lighting coil, as they should all work with just a well charged battery.

You can check continuity through each circuit with a voltmeter or, with a couple of spare lengths of wire, just connect a battery direct to each item to see if they work - eg disconnect the tail light wires and then connect one battery wire to black and the other to blue, then one to black and the other to yellow, to test that part of the tail light circuit.

Whoa....now I'm a bit confused, Gr8uncleal.  I understand your tip for testing the individual circuits, but I was under the impression that the headlight only worked with the engine running.  Isn't that the case?

I was only talking about testing the tail light and other dc items here.

You can adopt the battery test method for the horn (although it might only "fart"!) and each indicator (they'll just light up in this exercise, not flash).

OK....got it.  Well, all the turn signal lights and horn ARE actually working fine through the battery already.  Maybe I didn't make that as clear as I could have in a previous post.  But they are all working VERY dimly...even when the engine is running.  I was under the impression that once the engine was running, these lights are then running from the stator/lighting coil in order to make them operate much more brightly.  Right now, the turn signals aren't even bright enough to "blink".  And again....the headlight doesn't work even with the bike running.  Well....I'm off to go to the vintage ride now, but I'll check back later for any more ideas as to what I can try.  Going to use that step by step method of trying to diagnose the issue posted by MarkT when I tackle this all again tomorrow.  Thanks guys!

Hmm.  You said you had nothing working?  It sounds like the battery operated features do work.  Check all the connections and grounds...  and battery might not be fully charged.

As far as things not getting brighter with engine running, first thing to check is the rectifier under the tank.

Sorry for the confusion MarkT.  I guess I "updated" the status of things in post #8 of this thread, but could have done a better job explaining that I DID in fact get all the lights (except the headlight and tail light) to work and they all worked (dimly) off the battery.  The battery is in fact a brand new and fully charged YUASA. In terms of that rectifier under the tank, I will check that tomorrow as well.  Just curious...is that a component that can be tested or is it something I should just replace with a new part?  Thanks!

Rectifier can be tested.  Instructions in the manual or I think DEET posted a tutorial here.

Great!  Thanks...I'll look around the forum for the thread/post and test it ASAP.

What's confused me is you went from "nothing works" to "they light up dimly" without any explanation of what you did or found that improved the situation.
