Removing oil tank and air cleaner form a '74 360DT - any Tricks in Removal?

As Mako said : "You will need to remove the exhaust if I recall. It's sort of a puzzle how it goes together, and there is a definite order of things." It is tight, I believe you DO need to shift the exhaust. Maybe even the lower plastic rear fender?? (which was missing from mine when I got it, so...?)

It is official, (yes, exhaust has to be removed)remove silencer and header (five mins, thank god for no seized exhaust studs!) Remove plastic fender liner (4 10mm's bolts) Slip liner towards engine, slide airbox out to the left while pointing down, and then swing oil injection tank out to the right. Felt good to drain oil injection tank and then rinse with solvent. Question: What are members using for new oil injection line? Oem bent hose or generic fuel/oil rated hose. My old line feels a little brittle.

I use the OEM hose from Yamaha...  not sure if it was formed when new or if age has made yours take a "set"?

It can be trick to install to the pump on some bikes and make sure it doesn't kink...  but have always made it work without too much effort.

I tried some clear so I could monitor the line better, but it tends to harden up over time. The stock line is correctly sized and holds up better. Get the little clips that go on each end to snug it down while you are ordering. and you may as well order the smaller line and clips for the one from the pump to the carb while you are in there. That way you know what you have.
IF it isn't one thing, it's another.

If you are still talking about a 1974 DT360A, the oil line from the pump to engine connects to a banjo fitting located on the cylinder head, the oil line to the carburetor did not start till the 1975 models on. various Yamaha models.

I use Partzilla to verify that certain parts are actually still available, but most of my orders go through Rocky Mountain ATV which is linked at the bottom of the right site column. They have free shipping for orders over $75 which never seems to be hard for me to get to. Very quick shippers as well. YOu should be able to get everything needed except the banjo bolt which appears to not be available. I didn't see any on ebay, but give DEET a holler?

Thanks so much for your help! I seem to remember years ago refitting a injection line to a Mercedes diesel banjo fitting using heat, much like heat shrink tape - those banjo fittings if in good shape should be reuseable.

There's a little black spring steel metal clip/clamp over the tiny injector hose at the fittings.  Slide that down the hose off the fitting and you can remove the hose.  If you don't have the clamps, you can buy them from Yamaha. They work with the factory hose.
