Looking For a Part # for my DT2 was created by Brzn

Does anyone know the correct part # for the buddy/luggage rack for the '72 DT2 250?

If Yamaha made one for this model, and I'm not certain they did (ie ones available are aftermarket), then the middle five numbers are likely to be 24830. The first three will be the model code of the bike that it was first fitted to, so this could be any of the DT1 variants, up to the DT2 or RT2.

DT-250? Would it fit my DT2?

Could you post a picture of the whole carrier?

That's almost certainly an aftermarket part, but doesn't make clear whether it's for DT/RT 2 & 3 (1972 & 1973) or DT250A/DT360A (1974).

Yamaha had a rack listed in their "accessories" catalog for the DT2.  Those catalogs were very generic without part numbers.  Unfortunately it seems the accessory parts lists the dealers probably had have been lost to time.  I can't recall ever seeing a part number...  though if one exists it might not follow the same numbering as the racks that came as standard on some models.  (I will have to look but someplace I have an original Yamaha accessory rack instruction sheet and I'm pretty sure part number had a "9XXXX-XXXXX" format?)

As Gr8uncleal has said, the racks were likely not manufactured by Yamaha themselves for some models.  Then as now, Yamaha sold accessories made by aftermarket companies.

I see posts snuck in while I was looking for the instruction sheet.  YES!  It may have been a "ACC" part number!   I know it wasn't a normal part number format.

If the price is right on that rack, might be worth buying...  My odds are 75/25 that it's the right one.  If it is for a 74, people are always looking for racks so it could probably be resold pretty easy.

Hopefully an expert will know for sure but I'd say that's the correct one.

Yes, that's for the DT2/3 and RT2/3 - identical sticker on my own RT2 rack (see below).

Nice to know it's an original part - thanks to you and Mark for confirming. As Mark hinted at, I gave my original info based on the parts lists.
