Hi
Could someone please confirm what the torque settings are for the six cylinder head studs and the four barrel studs on a DT400 1976.
Many thanks

If no-one comes back with specifics, have a look to see if there is a Service Manual in the Tech Library here. If there is, the info might well be in there.

I'll take a guess but dont take it as gospel. *mm head studs 15ftlb's & 10mm base studs 25ftlbs & to be honest i have a habit of overtightening everything & don't use a torque wrench [it got stolen in about 1985 when one of the kids had dodgy mates--good W&B model too].

Not that clear but my computer skills are lacking--took a screen shot. Not tried that before lol. Just hit it & comes up a bit. Here's the manual to download.

Appears to be on page 6 of the manual (and maybe elsewhere in there as well) - see link.

It’s the first & third item on the pic I put up. Says cylinder head nut on first line then cylinder nut on third line. Not sure why they then say bolt though below that as is nuts in both cases. Doing this on my phone so hope i’m on the same page or planet.

Zylinder head nuts torque in the manual says 2.1 -2. 5m/Kg
That´s 21 - 25 N/m.

You need to read through the service manual... Yamaha often puts the specs within the text... a quick browse of the manual in the tech library (1975, but basically the same) shows head torque at the beginning in the maintenance section. Then they show the head and cylinder torque in the "engine assembly" section... and then finally, near the rear of the manual in the Appendices there is a chart of specific torque settings, page 143.
