I melted my Suzy Quad head in the log fire haha. Pulled out two valve guides next morning, & two valve seats. Who's a silly boy then.

Mine had 40 years of squirrels and mice hiding treasures. I blew it out with compressed air. How can you tell how much air should be coming through, or if it is still jammed up?  I am planning to have a muffler bbq soon.

Mice in my RMX exhaust, on start up & just as my wife walked into the shed--screaming haha.
Sounded as it should then went quiet so gave it a handful & hear a scream behind me MOUSE--what dear?

Ok ya don't believe it ever ran haha.
Here's a terrible video of the day i got it going.
Hard to watch but proves it ran haha.
Got given it for free [wonder why lol].
Had no powervalves with it so just blanked off the two holes with old alloy trials handlebars.
Rear shock hadn't blown & was still perfect. Same with front forks.
Cylinder was off so fuel tank had melted & flowed into the crankcase then set solid.
I actually got it going to how you see it [not very clearly] & was really nice to ride.
You can hear the power hit quite hard due to lack of power valves.
So here is the link & sorry if it comes up big not just a link.
Hoping to not fill your page with my rubbish if i can help it.
Cost not a cent to get it running as mate gave me a piston kit & i found a yamaha tank & seat etc in my junk.
Didn't dismantle anything, just kut & levered the fuel tank out of the crank the turned it upsidedown & waterblasted in there while spinning with a stretchie on the conrod. Anyway, just me being stupid i guess, hence my saying "she'll be running by lunch time".

trailboss - what I have found is that when I put an exhaust pipe taken apart (e.g. baffles, dowidget on end, silencer, depending on the bike) and put over white hot coals that when its all done the next day that everything is very clean and tidy, just brush off a bit of ash, zero gunk or residue,   like new almost

Well I set up after school and did it.  Wheelbarrow bottom on bricks.  Red to white hot coals.  Laid pipe over

good governor that stunk like h e double hockey sticks

it oozed smoke for 90 min.  I think my neighbors will hate me.

I am not sure how “not restricted “ it needs to be.  Heat gun on the front end, I get air and heat out the back.  I did flush with water, followed by compressed air and heat gun.  I hate to put a crappy exhaust on a basically new engine

i could feel compressed air coming out pretty good though.

mine needs a heat shield and paint. For 45 I can get a heat shield.  For another 55 a decent pipe that is solid with a good heat shield

any thoughts?

I just wonder how well they’ll just bolt up? But then the price looks good.. have room for storage?

I have dealt with the fellow before, he is an enduro enthusiast and has not ever steered me wrong.  I think it will bolt up perfectly.  Might even paint and sell my older one as a “seconds” grade part where someone just wants to throw it on an old bike and go for a rip, have at it.
