I forgot to say that I found the fitting kit on the KDI site. I also saw the fitting kit for the AT/CT bikes. The rubber block in that kit is the same as was fitted on my orange tank. So that info along with the smaller size would seem to suggest a CT tank. I have been wrong before of course.. have nice days/evenings all.

Ian it doesn't look like a CT1 tank to me, shape is more "beefy", the badge indents look too tall and the CT1 doesn't have those flats on the underside.
Looks like a 1969 DT1 JDM or possibly DT1-SA tank for the Australian market based on the colours.
I'm sure someone here with a DT1 would be happy to take some measurements for you.
Regarding the width being less than you expected, it's possible someone in the last fifty plus years squeezed it a little to suit there purposes.
Easy enough to flex back out , just put a little heat with a heat gun on the top side to prevent cracking the paint.
It could be a rare tank in those colours.

I thought I'd seen the colour combo elsewhere, looks like it might have been a European colour too.
If you haven't seen Micou Meekoo you're missing out, Dave Shyted opened my eyes to his collection and riding antics.

Micou Meekoo is hoot. I love his videos and the occasional historical buildings and such that he often captures in his videos. He must have a wonderful collection of bikes.

Pete, It seems the orange tank is what came on the bike. I'm pretty sure it was meant that the orange tank (with the flip cap) is from a CT?  (Obviously not a CT1, but possibly a CT2/3?).

Thanks gents,

Yes correct MarkT. The yellowish one I think is the DT/RT one and that will be staying on the bike.

Great videos. Some interesting stuff to watch there. Thanks again everyone.

Sorry, I read the first post and thought the mystery tank was the badge tank.
At least we got to see Micou Meekoo doing his thing

Yes, I think you're right Mark, the solid orange tank looks like a CT2 or CT3, given it's a bit smaller.
Had a look for my RT1 restore thread, thought it might be useful for Ian to reference parts, but couldn't find it, I guess it's been archived.

Thanks for posting that link. Interesting read and good for me to look at parts etc.

I really like the original rear light and bracket, but they are soooo expensive! I have found an nos lens so will keep looking for all the other parts. For now I have a later Stanley round light and rt/DT bracket which fits ok.

The bike in the video looks and sounds great. Top job.
