Frame identification help was created by mwlockwood
Morning guys,
Picked a few bits up this morning from a guy near
I just wanted the 21” front wheel but came away with an abomination of a frame, yoke set and wheel set. I have some forks so nearly a roller!
A farmer had modified the frame to fit a Honda CB125 engine into the frame for his son - the audacity.
The vin is *CT1-300341*. It is very similar to my CT1C frame but with subtle differences - aside from all the mods to allocate the other engine.
I will be modifying this to a field bike for my kids just wanted to know what she was originally. Any ideas let me know!

If I remember correctly, you're in the UK?
As the number isn't shown on the VIN tables in the Tech Library (well, I couldn't see it!), my suggestion would be it could be one of the handful of the CT3s that we got in the UK. I don't suppose for one minute that you got any hint of a registration number with it?!

yes in the UK!
I read somewhere it could be a ‘74 DT175 but it’s all wrong and has the CT1 moniker so I think you may be right on the CT3.
What I’ve read the ‘stars’ indicate this was designated for a foreign land other than US? As the characters were needed to make up the minimum character requirement.
Will keep everyone posted, angle grinder out tomorrow to chop off then CB mounts!

Yes, you've jogged my memory and I think that the stars/asterisks are for European/UK bikes.

I think you're right with it being a CT3.
I've just compared it to a few pictures of mine and looks to be the same, apart from the bits that aren't there of course

It's a UK/Euro VIN. 1973 DT175-CT1 is what supposedly is in the Haynes manual as the model. Info can be found in the Tech Library in the "UK VIN Information" section.
1963 YG1-T, 1965 MG1-T, Allstate 250, 1970 CT1b, 1971 R5, 1973 AT3MX, 1974 TS400L, 1975 RD350, 1976 DT175C, 1976 Husqvarna 250CR, 1981 DT175G, 1988 DT50, 1990 "Super" DT50, 1991 RT180, 2017 XT250
