Swapped the #130 main for a #135 main this morning and gave her another outing.  Previous general CHT was upper 170s.
Air temp 16C.

With the 135 fitted, general temp was upper 150s to mid 160s.
Air Temp 26C.  Highest I saw at WOT for three miles or so was 172C and did not rise further.  Is this fairly typical?

The new jet has no made any appreciable difference in power or top speed, but the cylinder temps are appreciably lower.

One thing I have noticed is that a slight misfire it had in the lower gears at 4000 rpm on a steady throttle (around 1/8th) is a bit more pronounced since the jet change. The misfire is throttle position related as in the higher gears at 4000 rpm, more speed equals more drag and more throttle required and no misfire.
Similarly, in the lower gears, if the throttle is decreased, or increased, the misfire immediately goes away. It is only on a steady throttle it occurs.

I am thinking it is not transitioning smoothly from pilot to needle and has a flat spot.  But which is causing it?

Pilot should be #25 according to parts book and needle is on center groove.  Not sure which way to go.  Bigger pilot to richen or drop the needle to lean her a bit.

Otherwise she continues to behave herself and will hold a 1200 rpm idle all day long.

Oh and I think the speedo is under reading.  Need to check that.  Usual average speed for traffic on the surrounding roads is 55mph, yet I am keeping up.with them at an indicated 48 - 50 mph.

Does any village near you have one of those signs that shows your speed as you approach it? Assuming they are accurate, you could approach one and compare the speed indicated on the sign vs your speedo.

Congratulations on a great outcome!
Ive been through a holy piston saga with my DT360 a few years ago and know the feeling when things go fro very smooth and joyful (and too lean) to oh shit no compression and am I going to have a heart attack or a stroke pushing this thing home!

TK post 102 would a leaner slide help, like a 3 instead of 2.5 for instance.

No idea.  I can take a pile of 60 tonnes of obsolete rusty scrap  and turn into a fully functioning drag line excavator again, but carbs.  Nope that is black magic.

Even in my motorcycle tech years, it was about machine safety, availability and bums on seats.  Never fine tuning.

In that regard I am out of my depth....
