3.25-19 vs 3.50-19 front tire was created by AirborneSilva

Hi guys, trying to find tires for my 72 DT2, thought I had some but they turned out to be back ordered with no idea of when they will come in.  So, I was looking at some Shinko tires and all I can find for the front is a 3.50, stock is 3.25 so is that going to make a big difference in handling?  Thanks for the advice!

There's whole threads on that.  Tire size is not an exact science.  I think it's one of the Shinko's where the stock size they sell is way off but the bigger one fits pretty good.  Need to know which exact tire and a search should find it.  There's a big thread just on tires too.  It's probably in there...  been talked about dozens of times.

I've searched literally for hours to find a dual sport 3.25-19 front tire and the one I did find is on back order and they don't know when they will get them.  I'm not to picky at this point of which brand, just want a tire that is right for my bike.  I'll do a search on here for tires and see what I can come up with...  Thanks

I bought a '71 RT1B that came with a Shinko 3.50-19 M/C 57P on the front. It was a little too wide and didn't look right. I installed a Heidenau K67 3.25-19, fits and looks much better. On my other RT1B I have a 21" wheel on the front with a Pirelli 2.75-21 MT43, it clears the stock fender.
The hours spent riding my Enduros is not deducted from my life span.

Thanks 71DT250, I just sent an e-mail to an ebay seller in in the UK asking what his shipping would be for both front and rear.  Will see but it looks like it's going to cost me over $300 for front and back

If anyone has any other suggestions please speak up!

Mark T, I did do a forum search and found some threads (mostly mine), with no real answers other than the Heidenau...

I simply searched for shinko front and came up with over 150 results...  quick scan and spot check found these and there are probably a dozen more relevant threads.

Thanks Pete and Mark, I simply put in tires and then tried DT2 tires.  Guess it helps when you put in the correct wording.

No doubt the Heidenau is the best fit. But not cheap.

Threads I posted have pictures and reports on Shinko.  Several say 350 is too big...  fits, but not much clearance.  Others use it.

Thanks Mark, I did see a picture of the Shinko 350 in the master tire thread, it does look a bit fat but may be an alternative if I can't find anything else.
