Just an observation...
I have run a lot of auto K&Ns and they all look red from their oil treatment.
redriderjf87, does your filter have the K&N oil on it?

I haven't oiled it myself, unless it was when new (I'm assuming they are at least).  To your point, I bet it does need re-oiled, or at least cleaned, bike has mostly been sitting the last couple years since I put it on.  I can't actually remember if it was red when I got it now that I think about it ha.

The old 24vm sc mikuni carb was flange mounted. The new 24vm-512 is a spigot style and requires an adapter. After installing the carb and adapter there is not enough room now to mount the carb and air box. I have ordered the yamaha filter, spring clamp, rubber carb joint, put a new seal in the airbox cap and freshed up the airbox. It looks like it will be up for sale soon. If any members need this set up let me know.

The new filter has the same molded body per K&N techs. The new part is RC-0330. I just ordered one so thank you for the info.
