If only I knew someone that could fit a new cover ;)
Had a second ride out today, much drier, got to my mate's house, reached down to turn it off and the key was gone.
Rode back home after a socially distant natter, but couldn't see it as it was getting dark.
Got the kids and a torch and told them "we're going on a key hunt".
Walked to my mate's house about half a mile and no sign of it, kept looking and found it in the road 200 yards from my house :Excited
Think I might get a little lanyard for it that I can clip to the bike or I could just put it in my pocket after switching the ignition as it comes out from any position.
Anyway, I have been told about the cover and I will get it done!

I'm very lucky in that there is an upholstery business a couple of hundred yards from my house and I let them do all of my seat fittings and repairs. Even better, they aren't very expensive. :Excited

The keys "jumped" out of the ignition on Gr8auntiepat's RD200DX a few years ago, but I had lo luck in finding them.

Once on an Endurofest ride, someone was telling us he left the key in to drag the bike on a trailer somewhere, and the key was MIA when he got there. Said he now wires the key ring to the bars while the key is in the switch.

Don't tell anyone but I used a 1p coin to turn it off and on, the ignition has been a bit mullered in the past.
I'll make sure I have a sturdy lock when I take it anywhere I'm gonna leave it.

It might be time to invest in a replacement ignition switch .

Most all of my bikes have a single key which is zip tied to the cross bar to prevent loss. I don't ride anywhere where I park and leave it. And I color match the zip tie....

Mark and Alan, new seat cover on, so much easier than the repairs I needed to do on the CT1-C seat.
The pan and foam are in amazing condition, tiny bit of Kurust on the clasp side where there was some minor surface rust.
Most importantly it'll be good for many years to come.
Thanks for the nudge to get it done.

Looking good, Pete! :likey

How do you like this homemade seat cover fitted to a RD400D/E seat that I've just bought from Germany (Bavaria region)?! :EEEK :ROFLOL

Referring back to posts on looking for parts, it did take a lot of sleuthing to find it, but because I knew from the underside exactly what it was off, I got it for about £200 less than I would have had to pay if it was in the UK. :Excited

Wow! That's certainly got its own style.
Not sure it'll go with a Kenny Roberts paint job or any paint job actually.
I like the searching for parts side of having these bikes too.
I sold some chrome fork covers to Dave (Shyted) the other week and that expansion exhaust has sold and gone to Norway.
