Aspen fuel arrived and I drained the tanks of both DTs and the house standby generator.

The missus benefitted by three gallons of free petrol in her fiesta.
At £6 a litre, obviously you cannot run anything like a motor vehicle on it full time, it is prohibitively expensive, but I just put a litre in each and ran them for 10 minutes to get them hot and the fuel systems filled up with the new fuel.

If I do not touch them again for five years, the fuel will still be good to allow them to immediately fire up.
I can report excellent results, running wise.
Aspen is very clean burning.  The generator was only run a fortnight ago so started second pull, but after draining the tank and running the carb dry, it certainly sounded smoother and quieter with the new fuel in.

DTs were as crisp as before.

It is far better for your health too.  It has 100x less harmful components in it.
Oddly, it does not smell very much either and looks like water.

Draining your lawnmower, strimmer, chainsaw ect fuel tanks and carbs at the end of the summer and filling them with a litre of aspen fuel is cheap insurance for an easy start next springtime.
Carbs and fuel system gaskets do not dry out, so no leaks next year and aspen does not corrode carb bodies, block jets or dissolve plastics and rubbers.

Recommended.

No place to buy anywhere near me or I'd definitely get some to try.

I bought mine from Amazon.  I did a quick vid showing the 175 rocking  Aspen fuel.

Can't get it to embed though.  Don't worry.  The plastic anti moisture bag is a good 4" away from the exhaust.  It is not in any danger of catching fire. ..

I saw on their site that there is a 2-stroke oil as well.
I saw there is Aspen 4, for 4 strokes, AND Aspen 2 for 2 strokes, but also the 2 stroke oil. Gets me wondering if they are on a similar path that Amzoil is with synethics .

Aspen is popular with tree and landscape contractors. Tree climbers like it's reduced emissions because they are often running the saw close to their face.
The hours spent riding my Enduros is not deducted from my life span.

Quick update.

Finally got around to fitting the carbs back on the vfr. Ran aspen fuel through the fuel pump and pipework to the carb fuel inlet.

Filled up the carb float bowls and refitted the pipe from the pump to the carb inlet.

With a fair amout of trepidation, I pressed the button.

She started immediately on all four cylinders and settled down to idle straight away.

No histrionics, no waiting for a couple of cylinders to chime in. Straight up and idling.

Modern fuel....
