"Use eBay simply as an inexpensive form of advertising if you are a seller. If you are a buyer, try to contact sellers direct, so they can avoid paying the fees."

And this ^^^ is probably why ebay has to charge such high fees in the first place?  Why should they absorb the cost of MY "advertising"?  Oh, they probably don't.  They just raise the fees for everyone else which they may have to do just to stay in business.

I guess it's also okay to walk out of a store without paying for the merchandise?  You can get away with that most places these days.  And the rest of us pay higher prices and/or the convenient local store location closes.

Or cheat your sales employee out of a sales commission by bypassing the initial sales employee and contacting the buyer yourself to close the deal?

Where does it end?

Part of the fun of racing is "bending the rules".  For example, I raced in a "stock" class with a rule that specifically prohibited slotting the stator to adjust the ignition timing.  So I removed the flywheel key to adjust the ignition timing.  Now if the rules said "ignition timing must remain stock" what I did would have been against the rules. But the rules didn't say that so my solution did not break the rules.

Ebay rules prohibit bypassing them to make the sale in most cases.  www.ebay.com/help/policies/selling-polic...-fees-policy?id=4354

Often there is a fine line between "bending the rules" and outright "cheating".  Deliberately trying to bypass ebay fees when the buyer found the item on ebay is outright cheating in my book.  Which is something I choose not to do as a buyer or seller.  Everyone is free to make their own choice.

I am with MarkT .. I will not compromise my integrity to cheat the system that feeds me. Yes’ the small seal paid virtually nothing but the next one was a home run and I am not complaining I paid $40.00 fees for a $80.00 purchase that got polished and relisted.

People who blatantly speak about cheating get ignored. I don’t have time.

$50 item $79.00 delivered. $54.00 fees and postage. 90 day turnaround. Polished up nicely $236.00 net.

Just who can complain about that?

It is not cheating. It is fraud pure and simple. Deceitfully obtaining services without any intention of paying for them, or plotting and acting in a deceitful manner to avoid paying for them.

That is a CRIMINAL act.

My friend R2D2 is a Auditor. I am certain he would like to take a look at your tax returns starting in 2018 - 2022 accompanied by all the supporting documentation for extensive review. He leaves no stone unturned.

Honestly, I am joking around. I don’t like to judge people. I leave that honor to the good people of jurisprudence..

In the UK you are paying over £7 for a gallon of fuel inc taxes.

70% of that amount is fuel duty that goes to the government.

Then you pay 20% VAT ( sales tax) on the fuel plus the duty amount.

So you are paying tax for being taxed.

Okay potential Yamaha eBay International Sellers:

you have officially been warned and informed:

If you simply decide to open yourself to selling Internationally here’s what you can expect!

You will not be paid upon shipment.

The International Buyer has a 30 day unconditional right of refusal.

If the buyer accepts the parts as stated - eBay will disburse your funds - perhaps in 21 working days after packaging and mailing.

If the buyer refuses the said item - for any reason whatsoever you will be charged for both shipping directions out of the Country - and back to you.

Asco warned you.
