Well good luck with that, the old guys used lead to repair damages on compound curves in sheet metal as the heat from a torch tended to distort it and change the curve length.

here is some parts I got last month and some for this month.
last month's parts collection. mostly a few needed odds and ends.
extra hold down nut and special washer for the fuel tank.
front brake cable for the Super DT400. right now I am borrowing the front wheel and brake and cable from the stock DT400.
tail light dampener
tail light cord assembly.
speedometer cable retainer clip.
front brake shoes.

this month's parts.
front wheel assembly.
the remaining tail light dampener.
following Lisa's lead, a 1975 MX400B pipe assembly. at last I can have a true baseline with the correct pipe installed.

I am going to use a small torch and the brazing rod has a low melting point. the small torch I use does not heat so much it would distort the fender. I might also consider the lead as it is easy to do.
I need to get the right primers and paint then I can do all the crystal silver parts then I will work on the competition yellow parts Lord willing.

I used my Go Pro camera to take still images so forgive me for the image quality. it takes ok pictures and it is 12 megapixel on still shots.
still images is really not it's forte though.
this is the MX400B pipe and it made it's way here. it has a few dents but they look repairable.

Is the mx400b pipe going to add more to the bikes power? Looks like Christmas is coming early for you.

not quite 100 percent sure on that but at least I can set it up as a MX400B. this remains to be seen.
I have to avoid the temptation of not fixing the throttle to where it would open all the way to wide open throttle so I can make a fair comparison.
but then I could fix the throttle first before putting the pipe on.
if it is this lively at 3/4 throttle, I can't quite imagine 100 percent throttle.
might want to fix the clutch before I get too crazy. it already makes a mockery of the stock DT400 clutch, especially 3rd gear and beyond.
a Barnett Kevlar clutch kit is in the plans.
after the clutch upgrade I will need this too.

A little update. I got the new FMF silencer and a few other little odds and ends.
I got a TTO temp gauge, a foot peg for the other DT400B.
This image is hidden for guests.
as for the Silencer I plan to use it with this MX400B pipe.

here is a small video of the silencer being tested. I used it on the existing Hooker pipe. temperature was around the mid 30's instead of 25 degrees as I said in the video.
