Found on Facebook. IT175 & Ford Pinto! Mt St Helens erupting in the background. Presumed to be taken May 18, 1980. I watched this erupt from the back door of my folks' business! Amazing shot of an amazing memory.

Here i am on a 1981 IT175 getting ready to hit the trails in Indian River Michigan. You can also see my step son on a 1984 YZ80 i bought and fixed up so we could make the up north 3 day riding trip. Everyone else had newer bikes! I think this was around 2002? Later in 2004 i bought a new Yamaha YZ 250F and made it into a serious trial bike for these weekend rides. Surprizingly the old IT175 did very well in the tight single track woods. Only in the fast pace sandy 4th or 5th gear fire lanes did it loose ground to the newer 250F's and other modern bikes.

Chuck Sun came up one year to our camp and rode with us for the weekend. I had my 2004 250F by them. He borrowed a Honda XR400 from our shop (heavy slow bike) and never rode the area but just killed us in the trails! Couldn't believe how fast and smooth he was in the woods! He would play ride for a few minutes as the leader then he would be out of sight in no time. he would be waiting for 10-15 minutes at the next rest point by the time the rest of us finished! His late night camp fire stories were to die for. I could listen to him all night long.

I was thinking about installing 3 tail lights for added safety and the cold air intake will impress all the Harley guys.

Looking through some of the things my Mom kept, after I left for Vietnam, and I found three things that could be of interest. The first is the registration for my 1969 AT1E, bought new from San Diego Yamaha (owners Gil Illescas and Mark Anderson) in Oct 1969. It was from the second year of ownership, and about three months before I traded it in on a 1971 DT-1E. The next two are shots of me and my RT-2 360 after my first 'podium' finish at the Lilliputian Grand Prix at Sacramento, roughly December 1972, the trophy is on the front number plate, and I am wearing a yellow 'Team Husqvarna' hat that I also FOUND in the same box! Pardon the cruddy pics, they were shot with a B&W Polaroid 'Swinger' that I also still have, somewhere...

Noticed you have the Kenda K270 tires . I love those tires for wet traction and road handling, they grip the road like glue, those are the only tires I buy, excellent choice!

Keep those great ideas coming. searching ebay right now for more taillights, but my 3 extra front fenders got me thinkin......
