1974 DT250A, aka SILVER

'72 LS2

Hey, the little LS2 100 twin. I've had 4 over the years & assembled the new back then. Last week i saw the one i sold about 3 years ago for sale for $2400 [nz] disappeared now so wonder if it sold as was about double what i sold it for. Even got one that was heading into the skip bin if i didn't take it ended up running as good as the best of them for no cost. Know them well & rebuilt the crank on one. Was a mint one that ran a bigend so got it cheap [talking 30 years ago now]. Recently was given a mint LS3 100 single, same blue color. Not been on the road since 2011 but runs great except left side main has been spinning on the shaft so will get around to fixing it oneday. Was a common fault in the day on small motors, 50 scooters etc & 100 single i think uses the same main bearing compared to 125 bigger one. Points ignition don't like up n down play very much. Anyway--forgotten what i was talking about lol, [old age].

The 1st bike I bought new at age 15 was a YL-1 (1st year twin). I did a Bob Braverman hop up with porting my cylinders, larger carbs, expansion chambers. I thought it was pretty fast at a little under 100 mph (crazy kid). Until my brother dropped his 100 motor into a Van Tech frame with a full GYT kit. My Dad (Yam 350) rode with him until 95 & then my brother shifted into 4th & my Dad watched hip pull quickly away..........We ripped up the coastal canyons in S Cal in those days. The pic below is not my brothers, but almost identical (his had lights & GYT pipes)
